Rules & Regulations

Bishnupur Public Institute of Engineering – B.Tech | Siromonipur, Bishnupur, Bankura, West Bengal

All registered students of Bishnupur Public Institute of Engineering – B.Tech are required to strictly adhere to the academic standards, administrative guidelines, and statutory regulations prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the affiliating University.
1. Code of Conduct & General Campus Discipline
  • Identity Cards: Students must carry and display their official Institute Identity Card at all times on campus, in laboratories, library, and college transport.
  • Dress Code & Decorum: Students must dress formally and neatly. Lab coats and safety boots are mandatory during practical workshops.
  • Campus Maintenance: Defacing walls, damaging furniture, or tampering with electronic/lab equipment will attract severe pecuniary penalties and disciplinary action.
  • Substance Abuse Prohibition: The institute is a strictly enforced prohibition zone. Consumption or possession of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances is grounds for immediate expulsion.
2. Attendance Norms (AICTE & University Mandatory Guidelines)
  • 75% Attendance Requirement: Students must secure a minimum of 75% aggregate attendance across all theoretical lectures and practical lab sessions in a semester to qualify for semester examinations.
  • Condonation Criteria: Attendance between 60% and 74% can only be condoned on valid medical grounds or approved institutional deputation, subject to approval by the Principal.
  • Absence Notification: Continuous absence for more than 3 consecutive days without prior leave application will require a formal explanation from parents/guardians.
3. Anti-Ragging Statutory Mandate (AICTE / UGC Directives)

Ragging in any form is a cognizable criminal offense. BPIE maintains a Zero-Tolerance Policy. Any student found guilty of ragging will face instant expulsion, cancellation of admission, and criminal prosecution via an immediate FIR filed with local police authorities.

4. Examination & Assessment Regulations
  • Internal Examinations: Performance in mid-semester evaluations, assignments, class tests, and attendance directly contributes to the internal score.
  • Unfair Means (UFM): Possession of unauthorized notes, mobile phones, or smart devices inside exam halls will result in immediate paper cancellation and disciplinary referral.
